I Seem to Be Lighter

Well, my Nana would still say that I’m overweight (didn’t you know that people 5 feet tall are supposed to weigh 100 pounds? Sigh.) but I’ve randomly lost weight. I’m more used to the gaining of the weight in a random fashion. Maybe the no longer drinking soda thing is making a difference? Or the job with quite a bit of walking about? Or the slightly less stress? I don’t know, but I’m not complaining. I’ve gone from 145 to 136.5. *blink* Yes! (Hell, maybe this will help my fertility issues.)

Tuesday Lists are Forever

And Now…The Tuesday List! Yes, I need more time in my day. Does anyone have some that I could borrow? Ah well. Keep those suggestions coming! Now, onto the list:

How to Survive a Robot Uprising by Daniel H. Wilson – A Luddite Love song. Nearly done!

How to Buy a Home When You Can’t Afford It by Robert Irwin – Apparently I *may* actually be able to afford a place. Not sure that I’ll be able to afford that much of a place, though. Especially not in the SF Bay area. sigh.

Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time: A Reader’s Companion edited by Stephen Hawking – My new book for bathroom reading. Don’t laugh. You know you do it too.

Speaking of Silents: First Ladies of the Screen by William M. Drew – Still loving it.

Doctor Who: The Inside Story by Gary Russell – I really need more time in my day. I tend to read this one a bit before bed.

Now, if I could just pause time so I could take a nap and read for a while… Wouldn’t that be lovely?

New HubbleSite Image

The HubbleSite now brings us an image of the Carina Nebula. In this active area stars are being born and dying. Beautiful, isn’t it?

Coffee

coffee_label_kbm.gif

I know that this blog is called “Tea and Complexity,” (not “Coffee and Complexity” …though that has a good ring to it as well) but I just have to say that there is one coffee that I enjoy a great deal. Too bad that I have to have it sent from Kauai. The Kauai Coffee Company’s Estate Roasted Kauai Blue Mountain is a really nice way to start my day. I’ve been drinking another of their coffees recently (as they were out of Blue Mountain at the time that my friends in Kauai popped by to get me more coffee) the Estate Roasted Kauai Koloa Estate which amazingly doesn’t taste like complete drek when cold. Now, though, I have no coffee left. Oh, the pouting! I believe that I have some online shopping to do.

Another Cool Music Video

Okay, I admit it. I am going through some old links and rediscovering some very cool things. This video was put together by Brian and Toby Froud to QNTAL: “Von den Elben”.

Beautiful Images. Haunting Music. See it for yourself.

I just had to share this video I found on YouTube with y’all. It’s Peter Pan set to Snow Patrol’s Open Your Eyes.

Sorry…I’ve been Busy

Sleep has been winning out a lot lately. On the bright side, cutting soda out of my diet seems to have made a difference. I’ve lost a few pounds unexpectedly. And let me tell you, that is not normal with me. Who knows? Maybe the actually sleeping thing is helping.

The Tuesday List Diaries

If there’s a list, it must be Tuesday, and I want to know where all of the hours in the day go. The reading goes slowly, and I have so many books I want to read. Ah the lamentations! Ok. I’m done now. Keep those suggestions coming! Now, onto the list:

How to Survive a Robot Uprising by Daniel H. Wilson – Funny…but it gets one to thinking.

How to Buy a Home When You Can’t Afford It by Robert Irwin – Apparently I *may* actually be able to afford a place. Not sure that I’ll be able to afford that much of a place, though.

The Tale of Hill Top Farm by Susan Wittig Albert – Go Beatrix!

Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time: A Reader’s Companion edited by Stephen Hawking – Kip Thorne certainly has a lot to say.

Speaking of Silents: First Ladies of the Screen by William M. Drew – Still loving it.

Doctor Who: The Inside Story by Gary Russell – I really need more time in my day. I tend to read this one a bit before bed.

Now, if I could just pause time so I could take a nap and read for a while…

Favorite Shakespeare Quote

Over on LJ somewhere I ran across a Meme in which you are supposed to post your favorite Shakespeare quote. I should note here that I *love* Shakespeare. (Yes, I think he was a real person who wrote all of those plays. When folks decide that he must have been Lord Thus-and-So instead so that they can write a new book, I tend to stick my fingers in my ears and hum to avoid listening to them. Terribly rude of me, I know.)

Anyway, I already have a favorite Shakespeare quote, so there was no thinking required:

“With love’s light wings did I o’er-perch these walls;
For stony limits cannot hold love out”
- Romeo and Juliet – Act 2, Scene 2, Romeo.

Stony limits. Ah, what a way to describe a wall. :)
