The Randomness:

* If you ever win the lottery, you could have a party at Hearst Castle. Mind you, it does not involve swimming.

* PhD (Piled Higher and Deeper) is an online comic strip that is most amusing. As you might imagine, it has to do with Grad School.

* If you ever decide you want to know more about Robert Burns, this is the place to go.

Guess what? I really don’t need my notes from college. I’m not really sure why I’ve been dragging them from place to place this last decade plus. But now that I’ve seen the light, so to speak, I’m back to looking at the mighty stack of notebooks. The stuff war is back on! (For George Carlin’s opinion of stuff, go here.)

As you can see below, this was my notebook for French 3. This was the first French class I took at University. I’d already taken 4 years of French in High School, and one random class in Junior College (in which I wasn’t fond of the teacher) before I got to this point. It was in the nature of a review, dontcha know. The things I remember from this class are: 1) avoir envie de, 2) My right hand randomly starting to hurt and the discovery that I was really slow at taking notes left handed, and 3) the professor’s cute winking smiley face doodle. Her name was Something Marie or Marie Something…I forget. She was really nice.

And now the randomness:

* I really need to get myself some aquanotes. I do my best thinking in the shower after all.

* If you haven’t seen it yet, this young lady quit her job in a most creative fashion. The site is supposed to have more information about her today. (edit: A most amusing hoax, apparently. Should give some real folks ideas mind you.)

* Millions of books get digitized for the disabled. Very cool.

* I keep forgetting to post this one: Protesters vs. Comic-Con. This amuses me mightily.

* I wish that there was a Butter London near me. Non-toxic products sound fabulous.

This week’s shirt is at least nine years old, as I remember wearing it to the Harry Potter Trivia Tournament one year. It’s one of those three quarter sleeve shirts. You know the ones. You spend half the time you wear it pushing up your sleeves as they are really annoying you. The design on the front is an applique or some such thing. As such, it’s a wee bit uncomfortable where it touches the skin. Scratchy. I’ll bet that you’re wondering why I still have it if I find it so annoying. Um…’cause I haven’t figured out where to find a Ravenclaw t-shirt yet, I suppose. In the meantime, this shirt is useful for geeky events.

Yes. I’m a Ravenclaw. I even have a bumper sticker on my car that says so.

I’ve been really enjoying Carol Burnett’s latest memoir, so it occurred to me to go hunting up some of her show on YouTube…and this is what I found. Fair warning: the reason that this is an outtake? Strong language. So, just be aware…and enjoy.

Hello all. This week for T-shirt Tuesday I offer something that is a bit of an obscure reference…unless you are a Doctor Who fan (fanatic, devoted to) like I am.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with my mania, I used to get paid to blog about Doctor Who over at Watching Doctor Who (for two and a half years…until that company went to heck), and now I have a Blog over at Articles of the Shadow Proclamation – where we don’t update nearly often enough, but at least you can find our podcast there. So, yeah…a bit of a fan.

I found this shirt over on Cafe Press (couldn’t find it again last time, sorry) and I had to own it. It’s a reference to some of the stuff that went on during season two of the current series of Doctor Who, and it features The Doctor and Rose running hand-in-hand. I wore it to Gallifrey One that year, and it was well received. I suppose that I’m not the only ‘shipper out there. To this day I rather like the shirt. Among other things…it’s pink, and I like to think that Rose would approve.
